Police in L.A. found themselves in the midst of a funny car chase last weekend, but officers weren't clowning around. The joker in the other car was.
Cops spotted a man in a clown costume standing up through the sunroof of a moving car and ordered him to pull over. When their orders were ignored, it kicked off a bizarre pursuit that took place on the freeway to Venice Beach.
Eventually, after about 35 miles, the clown car driver jumped out and ran to the beach, where he was seen playfully burying a beachgoer in the sand. Cops ran up to him and placed him under arrest. His motive for the bizarre behavior is unknown. A female passenger inside the car was not arrested.
