The Beatles are once again teasing the 50th anniversary edition of Abbey Road that will be out at the end of the month by releasing two versions of "Oh! Darling."
The first is a new mix done by producer Giles Martin, and the second is the never-before-released "Take 4" featuring an overdubbed Hammond organ from Billy Preston.
"Oh! Darling" was originally intended to be included onLet It Be.
They tried it in the Apple studio in January 1969 (a take from this session was included in Anthology 3) but came back to it again in Abbey Road Studios that April.Paul McCartney tried to perfect the vocal over several days, and they eventually used take 26 as the basis for the vocal overdubs for the finished version.
The 50th anniversary edition of Abbey Road will be out September 27th.
