I’m not sure what was more amazing in yesterday’s very first game of the MLB season.
The fact that after just one pitch Ian Happ’s slugging percentage was four thousand (4.000) or that pitcher Jose Urena’s ERA was infinity.
Or maybe it was the fact that Urena’s had three times as many hits in the first inning himself—hit batters that is—as the Cubs batted around in the first scoring three runs.
Which allowed for one more amazing stat.
The fact that Cubs pitcher John Lester actually had his first at bat of the season before he threw a single pitch.
The Cubs went on to an 8-4 victory while new owner A-Rod and his galJ-Lo looked on.
