Queen and singer Adam Lambert recently kicked off their three-week “Crown Jewels” residency in Las Vegas. The band treated the crowd to a career-spanning set, along with a cover of Elvis Presley.
The show opened with a projection of the giant robot from the band’s “News of the World” album cover opening a metal vault to reveal Queen and Lambert on stage at the Park Theater. The band kicked off the set list of Queen classics with a fast version of “We Will Rock You.” Towards the end of the main set, they performed their own take on Elvis’ 1965 hit “Heartbreak Hotel.”
The band wrapped up the show with an epic encore that was introduced by a projection of the late Queen frontman Freddie Mercury, doing his iconic vocal improvisation with a crowd at Wembley Stadium in 1986.
The encore treated fans to a reprise of “We Will Rock You” and a performance of “We Are The Champions.”
