Death may sound like a morbid thought, but Joe Elliot wants to go out with a bang. That’s why he’s already thought of the songs he wants played at his funeral. That's right...he has already curated a playlist for his funeral and he’s made it official.
"I've already written it into my will," Elliott says. "I want 'Anthem' by the Sensational Alex Harvey Band, 'All the Young Dudes,' of course, by Mott the Hoople — and probably 'Rest in Peace' by Mott the Hoople. An obvious choice, but it's just a great song." Elliot doesn’t want his funeral to be a total cry-fest so he’ll be adding something fun to the list as well.
"I will probably throw in some ironic song that will make the ones that are sniffling burst into laughter. I've got to throw something mad in there; I don't know what it is yet," offers Elliott. Overall, he just wants go out in style. “Anthem' by the Sensational Alex Harvey Band has got the drum roll and the piano and then the bagpipes come in and take you out. It's almost like a New Year's Eve song; it's very Scottish,” he notes. “And it sounds like a great song to see my ashes blow off into the distance — hopefully in quite a few years' time."
Me? Well...I'm gonna make sure there's a lot of AC/DC, Van Halen, and Rush playing. But, I'll probably also throw in that "WTF?!" song... You know, like "Puppy Love" from Donny Osmond or "Puttin' On The Ritz" from Taco... YOU?
And, while we're at it...how about a LIVE CONCERT from Def Leppard......
