Only In Iowa: Eldridge Police In Hot Pursuit Of...Herd Of Sheep

We've all heard of high-speed chases in the Quad Cities...usually of stolen cars or following shots fired. But, this is Iowa...so SOMETIMES the police have to go into hot pursuit of other things, like livestock! Yep...happened in Eldridge Sunday. According to Eldridge Police, a herd of sheep was on the loose in Eldridge. The sheep escaped and led police on a one-mile high-speed...well, okay, maybe not high-speed...chase. An officer was able to create some sheep herding tools using warning tape and two of their batons. The sheep were eventually surrounded and taken into custody.

A lesser man would now make jokes about the herd of sheep being "on the lamb." But, I'm not that guy...
