Hackers Have Figured Out How To Takeover Your KIA With A License Plate

A recently discovered “website bug” reportedly makes it relatively simple for hackers to gain control of Kia vehicles. “Independent security researchers” say they found a “flaw” in a web portal operated by Kia that allowed them to “reassign control of the internet-connected features of most modern Kia vehicles.” Through the bug, the hackers could reportedly move control of the vehicle’s features from the driver’s smartphone…to theirs. After that was done, the hackers could reportedly use their device to “track the car’s location, unlock the car, honk the horn, or start the car at will.”
