Kesha

U.S. Cellular will celebrate its 30th anniversary of offering wireless service in Cedar Rapids by throwing a FREE concert that features award-winning singer and songwriter Kesha on Nov. 2. The show will be at the U.S. Cellular Center.

Free tickets will be available at select U.S. Cellular retail stores in eastern Iowa and the U.S. Cellular Center. The locations and dates are available at www.USCellularCelebrates.com. Tickets will be distributed on a first-come, first-serve basis. Each store will have limited amounts.

Over her career, Kesha has earned 10 Top Ten singles, more than 1 billion views on YouTube and millions of followers across social media. Kesha’s latest album Rainbow is called “an artistic feat” by Entertainment Weekly. It earned Kesha the first Grammy nomination of her career earlier this year as Rainbow was up for Best Pop Vocal Album, while hit song “Praying” received the nod for Best Pop Solo Performance.

“We are thrilled to have Kesha, a global superstar, for this free event as we celebrate 30 years in Cedar Rapids,” said Mike Adams, U.S. Cellular’s director of sales for Iowa and Nebraska. “Our longstanding commitment to Cedar Rapids is a source of pride for all of us at U.S. Cellular, including our customers. As a dedicated member of the community, we hope music fans will join us for what is sure to be an incredible concert.”

Rolling Stone described Kesha’s Rainbow album as “the best music of her career.” The album marks a new beginning for the 31-year-old from Los Angeles. Based around inner strength and musical exploration, Rainbow finds Kesha at “her defiant, unbridled best,” according to USA Today. It boasts collaborators that range from Ben Folds to Eagles of Death Metal to Dolly Parton.

Kesha has sold more than 41 million tracks and streams in the United States and 87 million-plus worldwide. Kesha has had four No. 1 singles on Top 40 Radio – "TiK ToK," "Your Love Is My Drug," "Die Young" and "Timber." Her debut 2010 album Animal has been certified gold, platinum or multi-platinum in more than 15 markets worldwide that includes platinum in the U.S.

As a songwriter, Kesha penned her own music, as well as songs for artists that include Britney Spears, Ariana Grande, The Veronicas and Miley Cyrus. Kesha is the Humane Society International's first Global Ambassador and a passionate advocate for equality, being honored with the 2016 Human Rights Campaign Visibility Award. In 2016, Kesha won Billboard's Women in Music Trailblazer Award.
