'Twas the Night Before Weihnachten: A German Christmas Story

Explore the German customs, culture, and influence on our favorite holiday: Christmas! From Gingerbread to Christmas demons, the students share what a typical German Christmas may look like! Every aspect from panel design, to objects, to interactive, and even marketing was handled by the students! Come and see the talent our community has to offer!
This exhibit will be open until January 13th. It is included with regular admission to the museum: $5 for Adults, $4 for Seniors, $3 for Children, and FREE for Members. MORE INFORMATION HERE

THE AGAPE Center Project sponsored by The Greater Bettendorf Community Foundation would like to present the “2018 Stocking Drive” from 5:00 pm thru 7:00 pm at the Bettendorf Community Center (2204 State Street, Bettendorf, Iowa). Proceeds benefit needy families who need that little extra to give the children in our QC Area a nice Christmas. Parents can get stockings for all their children up to age 14. One stocking per child. Must be a resident of the Quad Cities (both of Iowa and Illinois), and provide any proof the child is theirs. If you have a stocking bring it we will fill it. If not we have a limited number of stockings to give. We are also partnering with St. James Church in Bettendorf to provide snacks while parents are waiting. "Season of Light" planetarium show
LOCATION: John Deere Planetarium and Carl Gamble Observatory, Augustana College
John Deere Planetarium at Augustana College will present its annual holiday program, "Season of Light," on Dec. 8-14, 2018.
The planetarium has undergone a $150,000 upgrade in the past year, which includes new reclining seats, a surround sound system, multicolor cove lighting and digital planetarium projector. The new projector is a highlight of the upgrade and can project full-dome video programs over the facility’s 30-foot dome.
The free planetarium show will be offered weekdays at 7 p.m. and Saturdays and Sundays at 2 p.m. Admission is free, but reservations are requested. Call 309-794-7318 during weekday business hours. The program is not recommended for children ages 7 and under.
