Davenport Schools "Virtual" Graduation Will Be Broadcast On KWQC-TV 6

Graduates Celebrate On The Southbank

Davenport Schools Superintendent Robert Kobylski made a big announcement at Monday night's school board meeting. The "virtual" graduation ceremonies that they have been talking about will be broadcast on KWQC-TV 6. There will be a one-hour ceremony for each of the four high schools in Davenport on June 6th. Students who would normally give their speech at a podium in front of their classmates will now be recording them for broadcast. They will also feature five-minute segments, showing each graduating senior's photo and name throughout the ceremony.

Superintendent Kobylski also said they have reserved the TaxSlayer Center in Moline for July 19th, in hopes that health officials will declare that an "in-person" ceremony where students would walk across the stage would be safe.
