With the coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic keeping more Americans at home, the American Heart Association is embracing a new approach and moving its iconic Quad Cities Heart Walk online. The Quad Cities Heart Walk, will shift to homes across the Quad Cities to raise lifesaving funds and encourage physical activity while continuing to practice social distancing. This year’s Quad Cities Heart Walk is sponsored by Canadian Pacific, UnityPoint Health-Trinity, R.I.A. Federal Credit Union, and SMART Automotive.
Register by visiting www.QuadCitiesHeartWalk.org, download the Heart Walk mobile app to launch your personal fundraising page. Encourage friends and family to join in via e-mail and/or social media. The Quad Cities virtual Heart Walk will begin at 8:00 a.m. on June 27. Heart Walk participants will not meet in person but are invited to get moving at home or around the neighborhood while practicing social distancing. Everyone is encouraged to wear their Heart Walk shirt and post pictures and videos to document their activity using #QCHeartWalk.
