NFL Officially Changes Cody Parkey’s Missed Field Goal To A Block
We have great news for Chicago Bears fans everywhere. We think it's good news, anyway.
Cody Parkey didn’t miss a field goal at the end of the game on Sunday.
Yeah, turns out it was blocked.
Watch the video below from Twitter and see what you think......
Yeah, you may not care but the NFL does, which is why they officially changed Parkey’s 43-yard, game-winning attempt to a blocked field goal yesterday.
And credit for catching the mistake goes to the same man who caught the tip of the ball with his finger—Eagles defensive lineman Treyvon Hester who revealed he tipped the ball in postgame interviews.
That then began a social media debate about whether Hester really touched the ball, with a “Zapruder film”type of frame-by-frame video of the kick.
Of course, if his ball had bounced off the second crossbar “back and to the left” the Bears would be playing next weekend.
And Parkey wouldn’t be worried about angry bears fans turning him into “a statistic”as well.
