Winter Storm Warning Issued: Worse Than Last Weekend!

WINTER STORM WATCH/WARNING REMAINS IN EFFECT FROM FRIDAY STARTING AT 12 NOON THROUGH SATURDAY AFTERNOON AT 3 PM...(see map below for areas to the west, north and northwest in the "warning zone")

* WHAT...Heavy snow possible. Total snow accumulations of 5 to 7 inches possible (maybe even higher--see below). Storm total accumulations could exceed 6 inches. Drifting snow is likely with some blowing snow possible.

* WHERE...Portions of east central Iowa and north central,   northwest and west central Illinois.

* WHEN...From Friday afternoon through Saturday afternoon.

* ADDITIONAL DETAILS...Travel could be very difficult. Patchy   blowing snow could significantly reduce visibility. The   hazardous conditions could impact the evening commute.

Cloudy, then gradually becoming partly cloudy, with a low around 19. 


A 40 percent chance of snow, mainly after 4pm. Cloudy, with a high near 25. North wind 5 to 15 mph becoming east in the afternoon.

Friday Night

Snow. The snow could be heavy at times. Patchy blowing snow after 2am. Steady temperature around 25. East wind around 15 mph, with gusts as high as 25 mph. Chance of precipitation is 100%. New snow accumulation of around 6 inches.


A 50 percent chance of snow before noon. Patchy blowing snow between 10am and 11am. Cloudy, then gradually becoming mostly sunny, with a high near 21. Blustery, with a north wind 15 to 20 mph, with gusts as high as 30 mph. New snow accumulation of less than a half inch possible.
