Alex Trebek is not out of the woods yet. The reality of the stage four diagnosis of pancreatic cancer just set in again.
The long-time host and producer of “Jeopardy!” says his doctors are putting him through a second round of chemo after he lost a lot of weight and his “numbers went sky high” after the first round.
Trebek was honest when talking with “Good Morning America,” saying he battles depression and fatigue and at times there’s excruciating pain.
As far as dying, he revealed what he told his staff, especially about skipping the line “He was taken too soon.”
Trebek's words indicate a realistic perspective, "Hey guys. I’m 79-years-old. I’ve had one hell of a good life. And I’ve enjoyed it … the thought of passing on doesn't frighten me, it doesn't. Other things do, the affect it will have on my loved ones ... it makes me sad. But the thought of myself moving on, hey folks, it comes with the territory.”
Since being diagnosed, Trebek has received an outpouring of support from many around the globe and told “GMA” about how he’s been given prayer shawls, scapulars and even holy water from places of worship around the world. He said he keeps these materials backstage on display.
