Last week, I reported in this blog that the Mellencamp/Ryan engagement was off. While there’s still no official word from either of the two, multiple outlets have reported that they’re through… and we may know why.
While it was previously suggested that Ryan was the one who pulled the plug, a source now tells People Magazine that it’s Mellencamp’s cold feet that led to the split. The rocker has been married three times before, and apparently, he decided he “didn’t want to get married again.”
As we told you before, Mellencamp and Ryan’s relationship has been on-and-off since 2011, but he was clearly crazy about her. They may have “spent a lot of time together,” but the source notes that “marriage never seemed to be a part of it.” At least, for Mellencamp – Ryan has said in past interviews that they would “get married at some point.”
