Baseball HOF Inductees Announced

Say hello to the three newest names that will grace the hallowed halls of Cooperstown this summer. Jeff Bagwell, Tim Raines and Ivan "Pudge'' Rodriguez, as they have been elected to the Baseball Hall of Fame.Bagwell led the three with 86.2% although Raines was just behind him with 86%. And Rodriguez squeaked in with just four more votes than was necessary for induction—getting 336 of 442 for 76%.Oh, and in case you’re wondering—and you know you are—Barry Bonds got just 53.8% of the needed votes and Roger Clemens just 54.1% as both were snubbed again.Although it should be noted the writers seem to be softening as went up nearly 10% over their numbers last year (we can only guess because young gun voters don’t know about their PED pasts).Rodriguez was the only of the three to be voted in on his first time on the ballot but – and even better story would have to be Raines. After all, many consider greatest leadoff hitter in MLB history not named Rickey Henderson and ranks fifth all time in stolen bases.Raines debuted on the ballot with only 24.3% of the vote in 2008, but steadily gained momentum in recent years and made it over the top in what was his final year on the ballot.Looks like he got one more great steal.
