You’d think the Chicago Cubs broke that 108 year-long World Series drought last season with some serious practice, well you’d be completely wrong. Because the Cubs are at it again this Spring Training and the practices couldn’t be farther form serious.
Last season some of their practices included mimes leading stretches and manager Joe Maddon bringing his psychedelic bus on the field. Now strength and conditioning coach Tim Buss is keeping it going. Buss, who recently drove his fancy convertible sports car on to the field making a scene, showed up for practice yesterday morning once again sporting something with no top. His torso. Yup, and it was nowhere near as sexy as the sports car. Buss showed up dressed in just a Lucha Libre wrestling mask…and a speedo.
I don’t care if you’re a Cardinals fan, stories like this make the Cubbies hard not to love. They are just having fun and winning. I just don’t associate the Patriots team and Bill Belichick with this much fun.
