U2 wrap up their “Experience + Innocence” world tour tomorrow, and if the final show will be anything like their recent hometown gig in Ireland, it should be a real treat for hardcore fans.
Taking the stage at Dublin’s 3Arena, the band dusted off a track from their “Zooropa” album, “Dirty Day." They haven't played the track on tour since the final leg of their "ZOO TV" tour back in 1993. Before treating fans to the rare live rendition of the song, Bono talked about how their experience growing up in Northern Dublin made way for the birth of the band.
“U2 was our way of getting out of their shadow. Our way of telling our fathers, ‘I’m not like you,’” he told the crowd. “My father Bob didn’t take me too seriously – he could see I was doing a good job of that myself. He did give me a lot of advice. I can still hear his voice when I sing.” Check out a clip of the performance to the right.
