By now, you saw how the Bears lost a heart breaker of a playoff game when kicker Cody Parkey's 43-yard field goal attempt clanged off the goal posts—twice—ending the game and the Bears season. And it seems one brewery got so tired of hearing the drunken patrons scream “Man, even I could have hit that kick,” that they came up with the perfect way to shut them up. By combining their vice with their stupidity.
Which is why Goose Island Beer Company came up with this idea on Monday. If you can kick a 43-yard field goal—we’ll give you free beer for a year—well, a free case of beer each week for a year. If not, shut up, drink and let Cody Parkey be!
So this Saturday, Goose Island will erect a goal in front of its brewery at 1800 W. Fulton if you’re blowing into the Windy City this weekend—the kicking starts at 1 p.m. Wonder if they'll give you a free shot if you manage to hit the goal posts....?
