Popcorn Is About To Get Even MORE Expensive At The Movie Theater

Here’s some bad news for those of us who LOVE popcorn, especially at the movies...your favorite snack will be scarce this year. All of this relentless rain we've been dealing with the past couple of months did more than just flood the Mississippi River, it's also wiping out crops...including popcorn! An estimated 30 to 40-percent of the country’s popcorn fields didn't get planted this spring as a result of the record-breaking rains. And those that were planted? They aren’t growing well. But don’t worry, your local theater probably isn’t going to run out of popcorn… but it may be a little more pricey. Experts say the price may rise by “10 to 20 percent” because of the shortage...so, it'll only cost $20 for that small popcorn, now......
