One of the most important figures in University of Iowa athletics history...and college football, in general...has passed away after a lengthy battle with cancer. Hayden Fry battled prostate cancer in the late 90s...his family says that he passed away after a "renewed long battle with cancer."
Hayden Fry's record at Iowa was 143-89-6...including a 96-61-5 record in the Big Ten. As head coach the Hawkeyes won three conference titles: 1981, 1985, and 1990.
Hayden Fry was 90 years old.
