With the Super Bowl just days away, the bean experts at Bush’s wanted to create a super-size version of a game day party staple: 7-layer dip. They didn’t just go big, they went ten-times bigger with a 70-layer dip that now holds the Guinness World Record for “largest layer dip.”
This enormous version of the classic appetizer weighed in at 1,087 pounds - which is over half a ton! It was made with “10 unique 7-layer bean dip recipes” stacked on top of each other and the finished product featured:
- 91-pounds of veggie dip,
- 145-pounds of Cuban dip,
- 118-pounds of Caprese dip,
- 106-pounds of loaded baked potato dip,
- 100-pounds of Buffalo dip,
- 98-pounds of Mediterranean dip,
- 126-pounds of fiesta dip,
- 119-pounds of spicy dip,
- 89-pounds of barbecue dip, and finally,
- 95-pounds of classic dip.
This franken-dip took 19 people more than 227 hours to build and after it was certified by Guinness, it was given away to a local charity organization to be enjoyed. Let’s hope they had a lot of chips on hand.
