Just got word that they're rolling out the Hesco Barriers on River Drive in Davenport. The Mississippi's supposed to reach 17.7 feet by Friday…so Davenport has enacted the flood plan, including road closures and construction of the downtown levee between Iowa Street and Pershing Avenue on River Drive. River Drive is now closed between Division and Bridge…so pretty much ALL of downtown!
Let's hope that the city has a better plan than LAST year when all of those businesses got flooded out when the Hesco barriers gave way! Between last year's flood, the COVID-19 crisis, and now THIS flood...we've got to do everything humanly possible to help these local business out.
