Okay, maybe I'm a bit of a space geek, but the International Space Station is set to fly over the Quad Cities again tonight. Actually, the space station will fly over between 3:05pm and 3:16pm today...but, thanks to the sun, you won't see it. BUT...assuming we have relatively clear skies, you'll see it from 9:35pm to 9:45pm. If you've never seen something like this, look for a bright dot (similar to an airplane) but with no flashing lights. It'll appear to be moving at about the same speed of a jet in the sky...but in reality, it's traveling around 20,000 miles per hour and circles the earth every 93 minutes.
Sunday night, I made my wife go out to watch with me. She thought it was silly at first, until she saw it. Then, you realize that there are 5 people living on that dot in the sky 250 miles up into space. She admitted it was pretty cool...then went back to her Pinterest app...
