The bridge 20 years in the making is nearing completion. On Wednesday, they installed the "keystone" in the Illinois-bound arch. It's quite the process...although, it started at 8:30am and was done around 9am. The keystone weighs 240,000 pounds and putting it in place is a slow process. The Iowa-bound arch was completed last year at this time. THAT keystone weighed only 215,000. Um...is the new one a better keystone?! Is this something I need to to worry about when I cross the Iowa span, now?!
