Due to emergency street repairs and closures, and for the safety of our runners, walkers and volunteers, the Iowa American Water Bix @ 6 route on June 24 will be altered.
Participants will begin at the normal start line at 4th and LeClaire Streets. The route will then turn north on Perry Street instead of Pershing Avenue. Participants will stay on Perry St and turn right/east on Kirkwood Blvd – which is part of the regular Bix @ 6 course.
The second course change is that participants will turn around at Jersey Ridge Rd instead of going up through McCullen Heights, returning in the direction they came from. The total mileage for this week’s Bix @ 6 is 5.2 miles.
The Brady Street Sprints time trials will take place at 7:00 pm at 5th & Perry Streets. Top 2 finishers for each category wins a Running Wild Gift Card. Contact Gary with questions at robersonpacker@aol.com
The two remaining Iowa American Water Bix @ 6 training runs will take place on July 1 and July 8.
Bix @ 6 training runs start at 6:00 pm and are free for all registered participants. **New this year for registered participants** WARM UP AT YOUR Bittner YMCA. Join your Bix Buddies on the beautiful River Deck of the new Bittner YMCA overlooking the start/finish line of the Iowa American Water Bix@6 training run. 5-5:45 pm, for registered runners & walkers of the Bix 7, Quick Bix and Jr Bix.
