If you're traveling to Chicago in the next couple of weeks, they will now require proof of a COVID-19 vaccine for indoor venues, starting today. That includes restaurants, bars, gyms and other indoor venues like sport entertainment arenas. This applies to everyone over the age of 5 years old, but does NOT apply if you're only going in for 10 minutes or less...like take out restaurants.
Also starting today, driver's license stations will be closed until at least January 18th. Governor J.B. Pritzker is urging Illinois hospitals to put off elective surgeries and non-emergency procedures so that hospitals can keep more beds open.
