Here are two words you never imagined together: “pizza sushi.” Italian pizza chef. Manuel Maiorano says he’s always on the lookout for ways to freshen up his restaurant’s menu. Through COVID, he noticed that pizza and sushi were the most delivered items, which is how he came up with “uramaki pizza fusion.” Maiorano replaces sushi rice with steamed focaccia, baked in a way that keeps the dough crispy…even when cold. From there, he takes local Italian elements and combines them with sashimi to create a sushi-like creation that’s apparently getting raves.
You know how much I love Harris Pizza, right? Hmmmm....I wonder if they would ever attempt this...?
