Former Rock Island Rock, Brea Beal, was the 24th overall pick in the WNBA draft on Monday, and she's now heading to the Minnesota Lynx. With this pick, she becomes the first Quad Cities athlete to make it into the WNBA.
Her draft was celebrated by family, coaches, and the roar of supporters glued to Rooster's' 119-inch screen. Another Quad City women's basketball standout, Chrislyn Carr, was not selected in Monday's 36-selection draft, but will most-likely still have a chance to make it to the WNBA in the future.
