FINALLY, a study with some information you can use! Researchers at Washington State University decided it was time well spent to find out how much water is too much when it comes to mixing it with whisky. Assistant professor and senior author Tom Collins (interesting name, considering the study) says their findings were that 20% water dilution is the max you’d want to go. Any more than that will break down the smell and taste of the drink you’re really trying to enjoy.
For me, unless it's a flavored whisky like Fireball, or that Salted Caramel Whisky, I have to mix mine with 7-Up or Pepsi/Coke. At least these universities are finally doing worthwhile studies...
