If you're a HUGE Van Halen fan, like me...you'll love this! The Tapes Archive is hosting Eddie and Alex Van Halen’s cover of Black Sabbath’s “War Pigs” from all the way back in 1972. Eddie would have been 17 at the time, while Alex would have been 19. Joining the brothers on this song is Mark Stone on bass, making this one of the earliest Mammoth recordings on record. Mammoth, of course, eventually became Van Halen.
This version, thought to have been made at a club called Gas Company in Pasadena, CA, appeared online once before but was quickly taken down. The Tapes Archives names “an inside source that I very much trust” who claims the version is authentic. Check it out...
